It only took a year...

Well this week I've been loving on my little sicko.
He's been down and out for 3 days now and his only request is to be held.
24 hours a day.
This is one of those times when I wish my little guy wasn't chunky
because my arms are ready to fall off!
But don't get me wrong I love the cuddle time because my baby is becoming independent way to fast.
So we've read a lot of books.
And colored a lot of pictures.
But most of the time we just cuddled.
And there's not a picture of that because
well no one wants to see what I've looked like the last 3 days.

Now what I've really been wanting to show you is one of Ava's Christmas presents.
I thought of this idea about a year ago,
bought all the stuff to make it about 6 months ago,
and finally got around to making it in the last few weeks.
I know it's sad but that's how things work around here.
But after a year in the making here is her tutu bedskirt!
Ok so a few things.
First I really think it was worth the wait.
And I realize she really needs a comforter that matches her room.
Hopefully that will be solved sometime soon.
But I'm really loving it!

It's really not that hard to make either.
All you need is LOTS of tulle and a piece of PVC pipe.

Cut the pvc to the length of the bed.
Then cut your tulle and tie it around the pvc just like you would for a tutu skirt.
If your not sure how to do it there are tutorials all over the web.
Just use my friend google and he'll help you out.
When your pipe is covered you want to place 2 screws on the ends of the bed but only screw them in half way.
Then you can put the pipe over the screws and that will help hold it in place.
So it would look like this.
Does that make sense?
If not let me know and I'll get some pictures of it.
Here it is tucked down where it would go.

Mine's not put together yet because it's for Christmas.

I'm SOOOO excited to show Ava.
Now I just have to finish her tutu skirt
and a million other Christmas presents.
Are you ready for Christmas yet???

Fast Father's Day Gift

Ok so I know that I get a big giant
FAIL
for my blogging lately.
Seriously I don't know what's up with me but I have had zero motivation to blog
and barely any to do anything at all.
I'm going to try and snap out of it though.
To make up for my major slacking I'm going to show you an awesome Father's Day gift.
At least my Husband thinks it's awesome.
I made these for all the guys in our families lives for Christmas and it was a big hit.

Root Beer Sampler Pack
This gift works best if you have more than one person to give one to because it will make 4 packs.
For Christmas I made 6 packs and gave one to Reed, my Dad, his Dad, my Grandpa, and my Brothers.
I found that Meijer had the best selection of glass bottle sodas.
Actually they have a huge selection.
And lots of flavors besides Root Beer.
Just buy 4 different packs of Soda (some will be 4 packs and some will be 6)
Mix them up so there is one of each kind in the pack.
And enjoy any leftovers :)
FYI Henry Weinhard's is a must!
Creamy goodness at it's best.
Hope you have a beautiful day and I will REALLY try to be back soon!

Last Day of School

Today is Braeden's last day of Preschool.
It's a little overwhelming to think this means Kindergarten is next
but I am sooo excited we made it through preschool.
(It was a REALLY rough start first half of the year.)
It's so amazing to see the change in him in such a short amount of time.
He really has grown a lot and learned so much
and I am so thankful to his teachers for all of their hard work.

So as a little thank you/end of the year gift I made them a little movie snack bucket.
I bought the popcorn that comes it the movie theater buckets, 2 boxes of theater candy and some soda.
I don't know about the teachers but my kids were in love with the idea.
So we will be having movie night sometime soon.

Here is what the buckets looked like
and pictures of Braeden with his 2 favorite teachers.

A Little Pick Me Up

Today Braeden and I picked out some flowers for his teacher.
Yesterday she found out if she gets to keep her job next year.
If there's one thing we know in this house it's how stressful having an insecure job is.
She also opened up at our parent teacher conference and told us that one of her best friends fiance had been killed 2 weeks before the wedding.
And to top it off her assistant has been sick so she has been doing two peoples jobs for the last few weeks.
So with the funeral on Monday and finding out about her job on Tuesday I thought she might need something to help her get through Wednesday.
This is what I came up with.
I got the cute little tag from
http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/
There are some super cute printables there.
So I challenge you to look around and see who could use a pick me up from you.

*On a side note, don't judge my photography yet.  I'm still trying to learn how to use my camera off auto:)
